Pati lives in the Piedmont hills, located in the beautiful San Francisco Bay Area of California. Living in such a scenic and culturally rich community has had a strong influence on her design style. Inspiration surrounds her everyday. Mixing colors, designs and textures finds a natural path in her life.
Born in California, Pati spent a large part of her childhood in the Midwest. Graduating from Iowa State University with a B.A. in Graphic Design, she moved back to California, and spent many years in corporate publications and trade show marketing before discovering her love for quilting.
After being introduced to quilting through a friend, she knew that working with textiles was the right medium for her. She spent the first few years learning techniques through great quilt teachers, and then began to explore her own ideas. A few years ago Pati went back to her design roots to create illustrations to be used for fabric design. Her first line of quilt fabrics was Capri, a colorful take on Italian pottery. She collaborated with Mark Lipinski for Northcott Fabrics She is working on future lines with the same fresh, colorful palette.
Pati has taught quilt classes in local quilt and fabric shop and is often found with her quilting buddies in mini groups, retreats and guild activities. She is keeping busy at the moment with working on a patttern line and a new book.
Pati is a member of East Bay Heritage Quilt Guild, where she is responsible for on the guild’s social media. She is also a member of East Bay Modern Quilt Guild and enjoys being active with their annual event, Stitch Modern. When she is not busy with quilting she can be found gardening and cooking. But first and foremost in her life is her family – her husband of 24 years and the most supportive person on the planet, Clifford, 23 year old son Daniel, 21 year old daughter Molly, Betsy the Springer Spaniel and the head of the household, Nikki, a 12 year old cat.
